Before setting up Xumo Stream Box for Business, ensure you have:
- A working internet connection with WiFi enabled
- Your WiFi network name and password
- A separate device with an internet browser for activation and Xumo account registration
- The make and model of your TV and external speaker system (if applicable) if you plan to pair your remote to control your TV and volume
Tips:
- Scan the QR code on your TV with your smartphone for easier activation.
- You can also use an Ethernet cable (not included) to use Xumo Stream Box for Business with a wired connection instead of WiFi.
How to set up Xumo Stream Box for Business
Step 1: Connect Xumo Stream Box for Business to your TV
Connect the HDMI cable to your Xumo Stream Box for Business and TV, then plug the power supply into an electrical outlet.
When the power indicator lights up, turn on your TV and select the correct HDMI source by selecting Input or Source on your TV or TV remote. If your Xumo Stream Box for Business isn’t connecting, try these troubleshooting tips.
Note: Only use the supplied power adapter. Avoid outlets controlled by dimmers.
Step 2: Follow the instructions on-screen
Follow the instructions on-screen to pair your remote and activate your Xumo Stream Box for Business. Make sure Xumo Stream Box for Business has a clear line of sight to your remote during setup.
Note: Xumo will never charge you a fee to activate your device. Avoid fraudulent websites running activation and technical support scams.
Spectrum Business subscribers
Spectrum Business subscribers can choose to Continue with Spectrum during activation to use existing Spectrum Business credentials to create and log in to their Xumo account. If prompted after activation, select Spectrum as your TV provider and sign in to watch all your live content, favorite shows and more. Simply say "Spectrum" into your voice remote after you've completed the device activation to start watching.
Note: You may see advertisements on xumo.com for consumer apps like Netflix, Hulu and Peacock. Unfortunately, these consumer apps are only available to residential Xumo users. If you purchase a subscription to a consumer app through the Xumo account you use for your Xumo Stream Box for Business devices, you will not be able to watch the app on your Xumo Stream Box for Business due to content rights.
What do I do if my Xumo Stream Box for Business is unresponsive?
If your Xumo Stream Box for Business is unresponsive, try the following troubleshooting tips:
- Try resetting it by unplugging the power supply and then plugging it back in.
- Make sure both ends of the HDMI cable are securely plugged into both your TV and Xumo Stream Box for Business.
- Try using a different HDMI port on your TV.
- Press the
button to see if you can wake your Xumo Stream Box for Business.

What do I do if my remote is unresponsive?
- First, check your remote’s batteries. If you do not see a red or green light appear at the top of the remote when pressing any buttons, try switching to fresh batteries.
- Next, ensure that you are within three feet of the device and there is a clear line of sight between Xumo Stream Box for Business and your remote.
- If the device is still unresponsive, press and hold the 1 and 3 buttons on your remote for three seconds, or until you see the light at the top of the remote flash green.

How do I fix my remote’s connection to my TV or speakers?
If you’re unable to control your TV or speakers’ volume using your Xumo remote, follow the instructions below to get it paired.
Tip: Have your TV or speaker model number ready for easier setup.
To pair your remote to your TV:
- Go to Settings > Connected devices > Remote.
- Select Control your TV.
- Select Yes when asked, "Select this remote to control your TV?".
- Try changing the volume when prompted and answer Yes if your volume responds to your remote or No if it doesn’t work.
- If changing the volume doesn’t work (you selected No), select your TV brand from the list provided.
- Enter the model number of your TV. If you don’t have your model number, your Xumo Stream Box for Business can try to find it, but it may take longer.
To pair your remote to your speakers:
- Go to Settings > Connected devices > Remote.
- Select Control a speaker system.
- Enter the brand of the speakers you’d like to connect to.
- Enter the model number of your speakers. If you don’t have your model number, your Xumo Stream Box for Business can try to find it, but it may take longer.
