Your Stream Box gives you control over when it sleeps and how it powers on. Understanding these settings helps you save energy, troubleshoot common power issues and customize your viewing experience.

Access Start up and standby settings

Use the Start up and standby menu to manage your Xumo Stream Box power settings.

1. Press the Quick Access (…) button on your remote, scroll right to Settings, then press OK.
   
2. Scroll to Start up and standby, then press OK.
   

Manage standby settings

Your Xumo Stream Box automatically enters standby mode after 8 hours of inactivity.

To change when your device enters standby mode:

1. From Start up and standby, select Auto standby.
2. Choose your preferred standby setting, ranging from Never to 12 hours.
   

To wake your Xumo Stream Box from standby mode, press the Home button on your remote.

Network standby mode: Turn this setting on or off to choose whether your Xumo Stream Box stays connected to the internet while in standby mode.

Set a sleep timer

Use a sleep timer to automatically put your Xumo Stream Box to sleep after a set amount of time.

1. From Start up and standby, select Sleep timer.
2. Choose your preferred sleep timer duration.

Troubleshoot power button issues

If your Xumo Stream Box doesn't respond when you press the Power button:

• Make sure your remote is pointed at the device and nothing is blocking the signal.
• Press the Power button again.
• If your Xumo Stream Box is starting up, wait about one minute for it to finish before trying again.

If you’re still having trouble, try resetting your remote, reach out to our Xumo agents or try restoring your Stream Box to its factory settings if no other troubleshooting attempts work.

Troubleshooting a dark screen on your Xumo Stream Box

Your Xumo Stream Box may start in Standby mode after it's unplugged, a power strip is turned off, or power is restored after an outage.

Press the Home button on your remote to wake your Xumo Stream Box from Sleep or Standby mode.
