Parental controls on your Xumo Stream Box for Spectrum help you create a safer viewing environment for your family by restricting access to certain apps and purchases. With a simple PIN, you can decide which content your household can access and prevent unauthorized purchases. Each Xumo Stream Box can have its own unique PIN and settings, giving you flexible control over multiple devices.

Note: These parental controls apply to your Xumo Stream Box only, not the Spectrum TV app.

Access Parental settings

To access parental settings on your Xumo Stream Box for Spectrum:

1. Press the Quick Access () button on your remote, scroll right to Settings, then press OK.
   
2. Using your remote navigation pad, scroll to Parental, then press OK.
   

How to set up your PIN

Before you can manage your parental controls, you’ll need to set up a PIN.

1. Navigate to Settings > Parental
2. Select Set up your PIN.
   
3. Enter a four-digit PIN that you'll remember, then re-enter it to confirm.
   
4. You will see a message confirming the PIN is ready to use.
   
5. Select Continue.

How to manage your parental controls

Once you've created a parental PIN, you can use it to restrict purchases and access to apps on your Xumo Stream Box.

To manage parental controls on your Xumo Stream Box for Spectrum:

1. Navigate to Settings > Parental
2. Select Manage PIN settings
   

Require a PIN for purchases

1. Navigate to Settings > Parental > Manage PIN settings
2. Enter your PIN
3. Select PIN options
   
4. Turn on PIN for purchases to require your PIN before purchases can be made on your Xumo Stream Box.

Require a PIN for apps

1. Navigate to Settings > Parental > Manage PIN settings
2. Scroll down to PIN for apps then press OK to select it
   
3. Choose which apps require a PIN to open. You can restrict access to all available apps or scroll down to select individual apps you want to restrict.

How to change your PIN

1. Navigate to Settings > Parental > Manage PIN settings
2. Re-enter your PIN
   
3. Select Change PIN
   
4. Choose a new four-digit PIN
5. Confirm your new PIN

How to remove your PIN

1. Navigate to Settings > Parental > Manage PIN settings
2. Scroll down and select Remove PIN.
   
3. When the confirmation message appears, select Remove PIN
   

What if I forget my PIN?

If you forget your PIN, you’ll need to factory reset your Xumo Stream Box to clear it. Select Start Chat at the bottom of this page to contact a Xumo agent for help. Support is available 24/7.

Note: Parental control settings are specific to each Xumo Stream Box. If you have more than one device, you’ll need to set up parental controls on each one separately.
