Connect a Bluetooth speaker or headphones to your Xumo TV

Using Bluetooth devices allows you to watch TV without disturbing others, enjoy enhanced audio quality, or move around while staying connected to your entertainment. Once paired, the devices will automatically reconnect.

Before you begin, identify which version of the Xumo TV interface you have so you can follow the correct steps to pair, manage and troubleshoot your Bluetooth devices.

Xumo TV version

There are two ways to identify your version:

  1. Press the Settings SettingsCog.png button on your remote or scroll down to the Settings tile on your home screen.
    • If the first item in the Settings menu is Closed captions, select the Berry tab.
    • If the first item in the Settings menu is Picture and sound, select the Teal tab.
  2. Look for one of the following logos in the top-left corner of your TV screen:
  • If you see this logo, select the Berry tab.

Pair a new Bluetooth device 

Connect a Bluetooth speaker or headphones to your Xumo TV for private listening or a different audio experience.

How to pair a new Bluetooth device 
  1. On your Xumo TV, go to Settings > Picture and sound > Audio settings > Bluetooth devices.
  2. Select Scan for available devices.
  3. When your device name appears on screen, select Connect.
  4. Your device is now connected and ready to use.

Manage your Bluetooth devices

Manage devices you've already paired when you want to temporarily disconnect them or remove them from your Xumo TV.

How to disconnect a Bluetooth device 

Disconnecting your Bluetooth device temporarily switches the sound back to your TV speakers while keeping your device saved for future use.

  1. Go to Settings > Picture and sound > Audio settings > Bluetooth devices.
  2. Select your device.
  3. Select Disconnect.
How to forget a Bluetooth device 

Forgetting a device permanently removes it from your TV. Use this option when you no longer plan to use that speaker or headphones with your Xumo TV.

  1. Go to Settings > Picture and sound > Audio settings > Bluetooth devices.
  2. Select your device.
  3. Select Forget.

Troubleshoot your Bluetooth devices

Try these troubleshooting steps if your Bluetooth device won't pair, connect or reconnect to your Xumo TV.

My Bluetooth device won't pair or connect

If your Bluetooth device won't pair or connect, try power cycling your TV:

  1. Unplug your Xumo TV from the power outlet.
  2. Wait 3 minutes.
  3. Plug your TV back in.
  4. Try pairing your device again.

Power cycling your TV can clear temporary connection issues that may prevent your Bluetooth device from pairing or connecting.

A previously connected Bluetooth device won't reconnect

If a previously connected Bluetooth device won't reconnect, remove the device from your TV and pair it again:

  1. Go to your TV's Bluetooth devices list.
  2. Select the device you're having trouble connecting.
  3. Select Forget.
  4. Follow the steps above to pair your Bluetooth device again
