Do I need a Xumo account to use my Xumo TV?
Yes. A Xumo account is required to activate and use your TV. During setup, your TV will guide you through creating an account so you can start watching right away.
Your account allows you to:
- Complete the initial activation and setup of your TV
- Creates your main TV profile needed to start watching.
- Immediately access the free channels and apps included with Xumo TV upon setup.
- Manage your preferences, subscriptions, and paired devices.
- Add a payment method to buy or rent movies, shows, and app subscriptions directly from your TV.

Creating your Xumo account
How do I create my Xumo account during initial setup?
When you first turn on your Xumo TV, you’ll be guided through the setup process. Here’s how to create your account:
- Follow the on-screen prompts during setup.
- When the QR code appears on screen, scan it with your smartphone or tablet.
- You’ll be taken to the Xumo account creation page.
- Enter your email address and create a secure password.
- (Optional) Add method of payment if you want to make purchases or subscribe to premium channels.
Note: If you are a Spectrum customer, you have the ability to create a Xumo account using your Spectrum credentials during your TV activation. Simply click Continue with Spectrum. For additional support information, please visit Xumo Support for Charter Spectrum Customers.
What if I don’t have a smartphone to scan the QR code?
No problem — your TV will also display a web address you can enter on a computer or tablet to complete account setup.
How do I create a Xumo account after setting up my TV?
If you set up your Xumo TV without creating an account, don’t worry — you can still create one by performing a factory reset. This will restart the setup process and prompt you to create your Xumo account.
Before you begin, identify which version of the Xumo TV interface you have. This will help ensure you follow the correct steps for your device.
There are two ways to identify your version:
- Press the
button on your remote or scroll down to the Settings tile on your home screen.
- If the first item in the Settings menu is Closed captions, follow the instructions for the Berry version.
- If the first item in the Settings menu is Picture and sound, follow the instructions for the Teal version.
- Look for one of the following logos in the top-left corner of your TV screen:

Once you've identified your version, follow the corresponding instructions below to perform a factory reset.
Berry version: Steps to perform a factory reset
- Go to Settings
- From your TV’s home screen, select the Settings icon or say “Settings” using your voice remote
- Navigate to Factory Reset
- Go to Device Settings > Factory Reset
- Confirm Reset
- When prompted, select Yes, restore

Teal version: Steps to perform a factory reset
- Go to Settings
- From your TV’s home screen, select the Settings icon or say “settings” using your voice remote
- Go to System Management > Resets & Updates > Factory Reset
- An “Are you Sure?” screen will appear. Click Continue.
Once your TV’s factory settings have been restored, you’ll be shown the welcome screen and be prompted to set up your TV again
Note: After restoring your TV’s factory settings, you will have to reset your remote. Visit Controlling and troubleshooting your Xumo TV remote for instructions.
Do I need to pay to create a Xumo account?
No, creating a Xumo account is completely free. You only need to add a payment method if you plan to make purchases or subscribe to paid apps.
Managing your Xumo account
How can I manage my method of payment?
You can add, change, and remove your method of payment at any time through your Xumo account at xumo.com/account.
How do I reset my password?
Resetting your password is fast, easy, and helps keep your Xumo experience secure.

Go to xumo.com/account.
- Enter your email address associated with your Xumo account.
- Select Forgot Password?
- Follow the instructions to reset your password via email.
Note: If you're a Spectrum customer and signed in with your Spectrum credentials, you'll need to reset your password through the Spectrum website by following these steps:
- Click Continue with Spectrum on the Xumo account login page.
- You will be redirected to Spectrum's sign in page where you can select Forgot Username or Password.
Using your Xumo account across multiple devices
Can I use the same Xumo account for multiple TVs?
Yes! You can link multiple TVs to the same account. Just sign in with your Xumo account when you set up your TV or go to Settings > Network on your TV.
Can I use the same Xumo account as my Xumo Stream Box?
Yes! Your Xumo account works across all Xumo devices, including Xumo TVs and Xumo Stream Boxes.
When setting up a new device:
- Follow the on-screen setup instructions.
- Scan the QR code displayed on your screen using your smartphone or tablet.
- Log in using your existing Xumo account credentials.
Once signed in, your new device will automatically be linked to your account — no extra steps needed!
