What can I do with my voice remote?

Your voice remote helps you find your next watch faster and navigate your device easier by using voice commands. Change inputs and find the right title or genre without switching apps or services, just with your voice!  

How do I use voice commands?

To control your device with your voice:

  1. Press and hold the btn_voice_1.png button on your remote.
  2. Say a command into the microphone at the top of your remote.
  3. Release the button after you’re finished speaking and let Xumo do the work!

Why doesn’t my voice remote recognize my voice commands?

There are several reasons why your voice commands might not be working. Try the following troubleshooting tips:

  • Internet connection: Voice commands require an active internet connection. Go to Settings > Network on your device to confirm you are connected. If not, try reconnecting to the internet or restarting your modem or router.
  • Speaking volume: Ensure you're speaking clearly and at a normal, conversational volume.
  • Remote position: Hold the remote 1–8 inches from your face. Press and hold the btn_voice_1.png button until you’re done talking.
  • Reset and re-pair: If the steps above don't work, try resetting and then re-pairing your remote to your device by following the instructions on this page.
  • Persistent interference: If problems continue after re-pairing, consider whether there are other sources of ambient noise that may be interfering with your voice commands.

My XR100 remote isn’t working. What should I do?

If your XR100 remote isn't working, here are a few things to try:

  1. Check the batteries: Ensure the batteries in your remote are fresh and inserted correctly.
  2. Reset and re-pair: Try resetting and re-pairing your remote. Go to the How do I reset my XR100 remote? section for instructions on resetting your remote, then the How do I pair my XR100 remote to my Xumo Stream Box for Business? section for instructions on pairing your remote again.
  3. Chat with a live Xumo agent: Select Start Chat at the bottom of this page to talk to a Xumo agent live.

How do I reset my XR100 remote?

Resetting your remote can help resolve a variety of issues. Follow the instructions below:

  1. Hold the Add.png and BackButton.png buttons at the same time for five seconds.
  2. Press the 9, 8 and 1 buttons in order.
  3. Once you’ve reset your remote, you can follow the instructions to get it paired again.

Note: Voice control will not work until your remote is paired.

How do I pair my XR100 remote to my Xumo Stream Box for Business?

To utilize voice controls, your remote needs to be paired to your device. When initially setting up your device, make sure you have a clear line of sight between the remote and the device and follow the instructions on-screen when they indicate to pair your remote.

To pair your remote:

  1. Press the btn_voice_1.png button and wait 10 seconds. Your screen will say “Connecting: We are currently connecting your remote,” followed by “Your remote is now connected”.

If that doesn’t work:

  1. Hold the 1 and 3 buttons at the same time for two seconds, then wait 10 seconds. Your screen will say “Connecting: We are currently connecting your remote,” followed by “Your remote is now connected”.
