  • You’ve got a PR1 remote if you have a gear-shaped Settings button in the top-right corner and Apps buttons arranged in an arc below the Home button.
  • You’ve got a PR3 remote if you have no Settings button and your Apps buttons are arranged in a diamond formation.
  • You’ve got an XR100 remote if you have no Settings button or Apps buttons on your remote.

What can I do with my voice remote?

Your voice remote helps you find your next watch faster and navigate your device easier by using voice commands. Change inputs and find the right title or genre without switching apps or services, just with your voice! 

How do I use voice commands?

To control your device with your voice:

  1. Press and hold the btn_voice_1.png button on your remote.
  2. Say a command into the microphone at the top of your remote.
  3. Release the button after you’re finished speaking and let Xumo do the work!

Why doesn’t my voice remote recognize my voice commands?

There are several reasons why your voice commands might not be working. Try the following troubleshooting tips:

  • Internet connection: Voice commands require an active internet connection. Go to Settings > Network on your device to confirm you are connected. If not, try reconnecting to the internet or restarting your modem or router.
  • Speaking volume: Ensure you're speaking clearly and at a normal, conversational volume.
  • Remote position: Hold the remote 1–8 inches from your face. Press and hold the btn_voice_1.png button until you’re done talking.
  • Reset and re-pair: If the steps above don't work, try resetting and then re-pairing your remote to your device by following the instructions on this page.
  • Persistent interference: If problems continue after re-pairing, consider whether there are other sources of ambient noise that may be interfering with your voice commands.

I lost my remote. How do I get a new one?

To replace your remote, please contact a Xumo agent by selecting Start Chat at the bottom of this page. They will assist you with the process.

Note: If you received your Xumo Stream Box from Xfinity, you will need to contact Xfinity support directly for assistance with a replacement remote.

How do I troubleshoot my PR1 remote?

My PR1 remote isn’t working. What should I do? 

If your PR1 remote isn't working, here are a few things to try:

  1. Check the batteries: Ensure the batteries in your remote are fresh and inserted correctly.
  2. Reset and re-pair: Try resetting and re-pairing your remote. Go to the How do I reset my PR1 remote? section for instructions on resetting your remote, then the How do I pair my PR1 remote to my Xumo Stream Box? section for instructions on pairing your remote again.
  3. Chat with a live Xumo agent: Select Start Chat at the bottom of this page to talk to a Xumo agent live.

How do I reset my PR1 remote?

Resetting your remote can help resolve a variety of issues. Follow the instructions below:

  1. Press and hold the blobid0.png and blobid1.png buttons on your remote until the LED at the top of the remote turns green.
  2. Press 9, then 8, then 1 in order on your remote and wait for the LED at the top of the remote to flash red to indicate your remote has reset.

Note: Voice control will not work until your remote is paired.

How do I pair my PR1 remote to my Xumo Stream Box?

To utilize voice controls, your remote needs to be paired to your device. When initially setting up your device, make sure you have a clear line of sight between the remote and the device and follow the instructions on-screen when they indicate to pair your remote.

To pair your remote after initial device setup:

  1. Press the btn_voice_1.png button on your remote and wait 10 seconds. Your screen will say “Connecting: We are currently connecting your remote,” followed by “Your remote is now connected”.

If that doesn’t work, try the following:

  1. Hold the 1 and 3 buttons at the same time for two seconds, then wait 10 seconds. Your screen will say “Connecting: We are currently connecting your remote,” followed by “Your remote is now connected”.

If pairing still fails:

  1. Turn off your TV and unplug it from the power source.
  2. Reset your remote following the instructions above.
  3. Plug the device back in and turn on your TV.
  4. Repeat the pairing remote instructions, starting with step 1.

If that doesn’t work:

  1. Replace the batteries in your remote and repeat the pairing remote instructions, starting with step 1.
