How do I troubleshoot and manage settings on my Xumo Stream Box?

How to manage power settings

  • Your Stream Box is set to automatically enter standby mode after 8 hours of inactivity. To wake your device, press the Home button.
  • Set a custom standby mode by going to Settings > Start up and standby > Auto standby.
  • Set a sleep timer by going to Settings > Start up and standby > Sleep timer.

Why isn’t the Power button on the remote working?

If you press the Power button and your Stream Box doesn’t wake up, make sure your remote is pointed at the device and that it is free of obstructions. Then, try pressing the Power button again.

If you try to turn on your Stream Box while it’s booting, it won’t respond to the Power button. This process takes about one minute, so if the Power button doesn’t work after following the steps above, wait 6 seconds and try again. If you’re still having trouble, try resetting your remote, reach out to our Xumo agents or try restoring your Stream Box to its factory settings if no other troubleshooting attempts work.

Why is the screen dark after I plug in my Stream Box?

After you initially set up your Stream Box, whenever you reconnect it to power (either by pulling the plug/plugging it back in, turning off/on a power strip or when power is restored following an outage), it will boot up in Standby mode. This ensures the Stream Box doesn't turn on and stay on in the event that power is restored after an outage.

Note: Pressing the btn_home_2.png button will wake your device from Sleep or Standby.
