Xumo TV gives you control over your personal data and viewing preferences through a range of privacy settings.
To view and customize the privacy features on your TV, first identify which version of the Xumo TV interface you have. This will help ensure you follow the correct steps for your device.
There are two ways to identify your version:
- Press the
button on your remote or scroll down to the Settings tile on your home screen.
- If the first item in the Settings menu is Closed captions, follow the instructions for the Berry version.
- If the first item in the Settings menu is Picture and sound, follow the instructions for the Teal version.
- Look for one of the following logos in the top-left corner of your TV screen:

Once you've identified your version, follow the corresponding instructions below.
Berry version: Privacy features
To customize your TV’s privacy features, go to Settings > Privacy, or say “Privacy” into your voice remote. Your Xumo TV’s privacy features include:
- Recent history shows what you've recently watched across apps and channels. Toggle feature On/Off based on preference.
- Personalized recommendations suggests programs you’re likely to enjoy based on your watch history. Toggle feature On/Off based on preference.
- Sale / Share / Personalized ad preferences allows you to personalize ads seen on your device and allows third parties to use data shared by your Xumo device for personalized ads. Change by Toggle On/Off.
- Reset your advertising ID resets your current advertising ID to create a new history for personalized advertising. Click and confirm to reset.
- Voice control enables the use of the Xumo TV voice remote’s built-in microphone. You can press and hold the voice button to change the channel or search for content, just by saying what you're looking for. Toggle feature On/Off based on preference.
- Locally stored data delete locally stored data from third party applications. This can include login information and other historical data, such as watch progress within applications. Select, and follow prompts to delete data.
- Mobile video casting allows your Xumo TV to appear as a mobile casting application on your home network. Some applications may not be supported, or may require you to be signed in on your Xumo TV. Toggle feature On/Off based on preference.

Teal version: Privacy features
To customize your TV’s privacy features, go to Settings > Privacy, or say “Privacy” into your voice remote. Your Xumo TV’s privacy features include:
- Recent history allows you to see what you recently watched across apps and channels. Toggle feature On/Off based on preference.
- Allow app data to improve my experience allows you to choose what apps can share what you watch and purchase within the app to your Xumo device. You can start or stop sharing your watch history at any time with a Toggle On/Off or by checking or unchecking selected apps.
- Personalized recommendations gives you suggestions of programs you are likely to enjoy based on what you watched and your interaction with your Xumo Device. Changes can be made with a Toggle feature On/Off based on preference.
- Sale / Share / Personalized ad preferences allows you to personalize ads seen on your device and allows third parties to use data shared by your Xumo device for personalized ads. Change by Toggle On/Off.

How can I protect my privacy if I sell or give away my Xumo TV?
If you’re returning, selling, or giving away your Xumo TV, make sure you sign in to your Xumo TV account and:
- Unsubscribe to any current subscriptions by going to Subscriptions
- Unpair your TV
You’ll be emailed a confirmation after making any of these changes.
Also, go to Settings on your TV and:
- Unpair your mobile device(s) from your TV
- Restore your TV's factory settings
