Keeping your Xumo TV up-to-date is straightforward. Xumo TV is designed to update automatically when connected to the internet. There are two types of updates you should be familiar with:
1. Automatic updates
If your Xumo TV is connected to the internet, it will automatically download and install the latest updates. No action is required from you — just stay connected and your TV will stay updated.
2. Manual update options
If your TV isn't connected to the internet or isn't updating automatically, there are alternative methods:
- Connect your TV to the internet to receive the latest updates automatically.
- Use a USB drive to update your TV manually if an internet connection isn't an option.
To keep your viewing experience seamless, regular updates are essential. They bring new features, improve performance, and ensure compatibility with the latest services.

- Once it restarts, you can safely remove the USB drive.
Note: Some older Xumo TV models may not display the “=” symbol on the on-screen keyboard. This can be a problem if your Wi-Fi password includes that symbol.
If this happens, you have two options:
- Change your Wi-Fi password temporarily to one that doesn’t use the “=” symbol.
- Use a wired internet connection by plugging an Ethernet cable from your internet router directly into your TV.
Once your TV is connected to the internet, it will automatically update to the latest software version. After the update, the on-screen keyboard will include the “=” symbol, so this issue won’t occur again.
