How can I use my phone to control my Xumo TV?
If you have a Xumo TV, you can use your phone or tablet as a remote control. There are two versions of the Xumo TV remote app, and the setup process depends on which TV you have.
There are two ways to identify your version:
- Press the
button on your remote or scroll down to the Settings tile on your home screen.
- If the first item in the Settings menu is Closed captions, follow the instructions for the Berry version.
- If the first item in the Settings menu is Picture and sound, follow the instructions for the Teal version.
- Look for one of the following logos in the top-left corner of your TV screen:

Berry version: Using your phone as a remote
If you have the Berry version, you can use the Xumo TV mobile app for iOS to control your TV.
Note: The Xumo TV mobile app for iOS only works with Xumo TVs. It cannot be paired with other Xumo devices like the Xumo Stream Box.
What you can do:
- Navigate the Xumo platform with a navigation pad
- Play, pause, fast forward and rewind
- Adjust the volume or mute your TV
- Use a number pad to go directly to channels (via cable or antenna)
The Xumo TV mobile app lets you use your smartphone or tablet as a second remote, giving you more control and flexibility when watching TV. You can install the app to pair as many mobile devices as you'd like with your TV, as long as each one has the Xumo TV app installed.
What you’ll need:
- A Xumo TV
- A reliable WiFi network — your TV and mobile device must be on the same network to pair
- A stable internet connection (WiFi or cellular) on your mobile device
Note: Your TV must be connected to the internet and on the same network as your mobile device for the app to pair successfully.
How to pair Xumo TV mobile app on your mobile device with your TV
- Download the Xumo TV app from the Apple App Store on your iPhone or iPad.
- Open the app — you’ll be guided through the pairing process the first time you launch it.
- Make sure your TV is online and connected to the same WiFi network as your mobile device.
- Select your TV from the list of available devices.
- Enter the pairing code shown on your TV screen into the app to complete the connection.
If you choose to pair your mobile device later, go to Settings > Device Settings > Xumo TV App on your TV to start the pairing process.
Note: The Xumo TV app on your iOS device can only pair with your TV if the TV is fully activated and the home screen is visible.
How to unpair Xumo TV mobile app on your mobile device with your TV
- Go to Settings > Device Settings > Xumo TV App.
- Select the device associated with the app you want to unpair.
- Follow the on-screen instructions.
Troubleshooting steps
If you're having trouble with the Xumo TV mobile app, try these steps to resolve the most common issues:
- Delete and reinstall the app on your mobile device.
- Update your mobile device to the latest software version.
- Ensure your TV and mobile device are on the same WiFi network.
- If your TV isn't discoverable, restart it by going to Settings > Device Settings > Power Preferences > Restart
- Unpair and re-pair the Xumo TV app on your mobile device with your TV.
Teal version: Using your phone as a remote

How do I connect the app to my Xumo devices?
- Check your connection: Make sure your Xumo TV is turned on and connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your phone or tablet.
- Open the app: When launched, the app will automatically search for compatible devices.
- Select your device: On your first use, select your TV from the list. Once connected, the remote will appear.
- Automatic Reconnection: Next time you open the app, it will automatically attempt to connect to the last device you used.
Can I connect my Xumo TV remote app to multiple Xumo devices?
Yes. You can connect the Xumo TV remote app to multiple Xumo devices. To control a different Xumo device, simply switch your selection in the device manager.
Note: The app controls one Xumo device at a time. Power on/off works only for the most recently selected device, but you can switch devices at any time.
How do I switch the app to control another Xumo device?
- Select the Xumo device name at the top-center of the screen to bring up the active and available devices menu.
- Choose the Xumo device you want to control.
How do I access the app settings?
Select the three horizontal dots in the top right. Here, you can view the Terms and Conditions and Privacy Policy and change your privacy settings.
If I delete and re-download the app, will I need to connect my device again?
No. If you previously connected your device to the Xumo TV remote app on your phone or tablet, it will still be connected even after deleting the app.
